Mr. Austin Green is a native of Dillon, South Carolina and a 2015 graduate of Dillon High School. During his time at Dillon High School, he participated in all facets of the band program and played a vital role in the leadership team, serving as trumpet section leader.
Mr. Green most recently attended Claflin University and was awarded the degree of Bachelors of Arts in Music on December 13, 2019. While at Claflin, Mr. Green served as Principal Trumpet for the Claflin University Wind Ensemble, and was also a member of the Pep Band and Jazz Ensemble. In addition to his instrumental ensemble memberships, Mr. Green was an active member with the Claflin University Concert Choir. As a result of his excellent musicianship and leadership skills, Mr. Green was afforded the opportunity to server as student conductor for the Wind Ensemble.
Mr. Green’s future plans are to teach music and or band in the public school setting with aspirations of earning a masters degree in Music Education. He is hopeful that one day he will be able to teach in his home school district and give back to the community from whence he came. Mr. Green believes it is his life’s mission to change lives through music and ultimately would like to do so on the secondary or collegiate level.
