For the past 40 years, The University of North Carolina at Pembroke’s Music Department has hosted one of the most sought after honor band clinics in southeast North Carolina. Past clinicians for this event have included legendary composers and conductors such as Rossano Galante, Robert W. Smith, Robert Sheldon, and Fredrick Fennell to name a few.
We are proud to announce that we have several students that will be attending this year’s clinic. High School students selected include Amir McLellan and Ashton Turner. Middle school students selected include Zaniyah McKellar, Madison Nelson, L’Nauhre’ Bethea , and Jayden Campbell.
The clinic will take place on March 21, 2020. Students from various schools across the Carolinas will form one middle school and one high school honor band. They will practice throughout the day and present a concert in the Givens Performing Arts Center at 7:00pm. The concert is free and open to the public. For more information, visit the following site.
